We started the Friday night Meet and Greet at the Crystal Pistol. We all got to snack away on the YUMMY wings from The Wing Stop and wash it down with beer from Marshall Brewing, it too was delicious. We were treated to the awesome tunes of Jonathan’s band, Science Club, and the highlight of the evening was the scooter smash. We auctioned off the first 2 hits to the highest bidder,$15. I know I bought about $15 worth of hits myself, that was 30 hits. Just me, my hands, and the baseball bat making contact to the scooter. I was told I looked like I let a lot of aggression out. Just what I needed. There were even people paying to hit the scooter that were not part of the rally! It was a blast.
Saturday got started off with the BEST BAGELS EVER. Really, from Old School Bagel Cafe. so yummy so yummy. Everyone got in their groups of 2-4 for the poker run. Around 11.30am everyone was off to gather cards from some local stores around town. Scooterists got to experience some new places around town. Ida Red, Dwelling Spaces, Coffee House on Cherry Street, Fromex Photo Imaging, and Ella’s Deli all welcomed us with open arms and a poker card for everyone. At 3pm Crystal Pistol opened their doors for air conditioning, cold water and beer. The hands were judged and money handed out to the lucky winners! From there we moseyed on outside to experience the gymkhana obstacle course I came up with. After a few adjustments made to the course(of course!) everyone got their chance to strut their stuff. After everything Ms.Carol was our Rally Queen on her beautiful pink Buddy! Everyone got a relaxing break after that and then we met at Joe Mamma’s for fabulous pizza! Little did we know we would all get the chance to watch the Tulsa Pride Parade. Front row seats in front of Joe Mamma’s was a profitable place to be for we got lots of candy thrown at us! Later that night we wound up back at the Pistol to finish the Marshall keg, the left over pizza, and to watch Grapes of Wrath on a projector out on the back patio. That also led to awesome and hilarious showings of random YouTube videos on the projector from my laptop. The Pistol was a great place to cool down and relax after a hot scooterific day!
Sunday morning we had donuts and coffee at the shop before John and Roger of Green Country Scooter Club led everyone out north for a cool morning ride to Sperry and back, just in time for grilled hot dogs, chips, coleslaw, potato salad, soda and water. We had fun hanging out and eating. We also had the scooter judging at the same time. Mark won the Rat Bike trophy, Jonathan won Loudest Scooter, Best Vintage went to Robert’s Trail 90, of course Kalvin won Best Custom, largest scooter club present was Hooters on Scooters, and Best in Show went too Shawn and his tricked out Stella. After that the raffle commenced. So many wonderful things were won. The grand prize of a KYMCO Sento was won by the Beckwith’s. It seemed the prizes went to all the right people and everyone had a great time. See you next year?
